Music, as we understand it today, is much more than the creative act. In order for this to reach our ears, the work not always visible of a legion of men and women is indispensable.
Those responsible for communication and marketing in this sector, with their foot in the commercialization and in the diffusion, are responsible for the analysis and decision making that links creation with consumption, and have been a fundamental part - together with technological evolution - in the ubiquity that music has reached in contemporary daily life.
It is because of that AM-PM "America for its Music" summons the group of professionals working in this branch of the most universal of the arts to participate in the fifth edition of the event, to be held between June 19 and 22, 2019.
The appointment aims to bring together specialists from communication and advertising agencies of the region, specialists in conventional and digital marketing, representatives of digital distribution platforms and music physics, as well as other interested parties, to exchange in the traditional theoretical spaces, which this year will be hosted by the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba.
On Wednesday, April 19, the panel "Cuban experiences of communication in music" will take place, which will bring together experts from state institutions, musicians, entrepreneurs and network managers of local artists.
Also, during the days 20 and 21 the Argentine journalist Humphrey Inzillo will give the workshop "How to grow the audiences for your music with the adequate communication". Through a dynamic series of tips, Inzillo will propose tactics and communication strategies to position a musical project in the media and on social networks.
This year three Latin American bands join our event. On Friday 21, the outstanding Colombian group La Mambanegra, led by Jacobo Vélez, will be presented at 5:00 p.m. in the Sala Guevara of the Casa de las Américas, at the close of the 1st International Colloquium on Afro-American Studies.
For their part, the Argentines of Alto Guiso and Nahuel Briones will join the Cuban bands Mephisto and Zeus in a long night of music on Saturday, the 22nd, at Maxim Rock, starting at nine o'clock at night.
Started in 2015, AM-PM "America for its Music", organized by Fábrica de Arte Cubano and the National Center of Popular Music, is a forum aimed at the visibility of Cuban music and the generation of spaces for debate on the challenges and trends of music in Latin America, which focuses on training and networking, recognizes and highlights the importance of strengthening and developing creative industries and explores the alliances between music, technology and "alternative management models".
